Visionkit Studio, located at 106 W. 33rd St. in Garden City, Idaho, is a creative production studio specializing in still photography, motion video, and creative direction. Founded in 2020 by Aaron Rodriguez and Matt Wordell, Visionkit was born from a bold vision: to create a space where creativity flourishes and collaboration drives every project. What started as a passion project quickly gained traction, evolving into a cornerstone of Boise’s vibrant creative scene.
In just a few years, Visionkit has amassed an impressive portfolio, collaborating with high-profile clients such as Fuji, Tumbleweed Bikes, Whole Foods, Snake River Farms, Treefort Music Festival, St. Luke’s Health Center, Aquaculture Stewardship Council, Visit Boise, Duft Waterson, and Kin Boise, along with local artisans and national brands. Their innovative storytelling approach, which actively involves clients in the creative process, sets them apart in a competitive industry. Whether crafting visually stunning campaigns or mentoring emerging talent, Visionkit’s meteoric rise exemplifies the impact of passion, creativity, and a commitment to community-driven collaboration.
Humble Beginnings
Visionkit™ is a creative production studio dedicated to helping brands tell their most compelling visual stories. We’re a small-ish team of talented creatives thriving in an industry full of big-ish teams of equally talented folks. So, what sets us apart? It’s not just our tools or techniques—it’s you. Yes, you, our past and future collaborators.
Collaboration isn’t just a buzzword at Visionkit; it’s the lifeblood of everything we do. Our process is fueled by open dialogue in a bold, creative space where good ideas evolve into great ones, and even the wildest concepts transform into finished products.
Our journey began in 2020, when Aaron stumbled upon an amazing deal on a studio space and sent out a group message to Boise’s creative community: “Anyone want in?” Without missing a beat, Matt Venmo’d him half the rent, and just like that, Visionkit was born. What started as a scrappy partnership between two creatives quickly grew into a thriving studio, powered by a few more friends and a shared belief in open-minded, open-hearted creativity.
This spirit of collaboration and community remains our guiding principle. It’s why we actively seek opportunities to elevate Boise’s creative ecosystem and use our skills to give back. Whether we’re crafting visual narratives for brands or mentoring local artists, Visionkit is about more than just production—it’s about connection, creativity, and making an impact where it matters most.

A Fierce Advocate for Community Engagement
Visionkit is deeply committed to nurturing Boise’s creative community, actively working to elevate the local creative ecosystem through partnerships, mentorships, and initiatives that bring artists together. Their efforts go beyond the studio walls, making a tangible impact on the Treasure Valley’s cultural landscape.
One of Visionkit’s standout contributions has been their involvement with the Garden City Placemaking Fund, an initiative designed to foster public art and creative placemaking in the region. Through this partnership, Visionkit has supported projects that transform everyday spaces into vibrant artistic experiences, bridging the gap between art and community. Their work has helped cultivate a sense of place and belonging, enriching the lives of residents and visitors alike.
Additionally, Visionkit has collaborated with local nonprofits and educational organizations to mentor emerging artists and creatives. For example, they’ve hosted workshops aimed at teaching photography, videography, and storytelling techniques, empowering participants to harness their talents and share their own unique narratives. These efforts not only build skills but also inspire the next generation of Boise’s creative leaders.
Visionkit’s dedication to community engagement extends to their commercial projects as well. By partnering with local businesses and artists, they’ve amplified the visibility of Boise-based talent, ensuring that their work gains recognition on larger platforms. For instance, their collaboration with local artisan brands has resulted in visually stunning campaigns that showcase the craftsmanship and ingenuity of Treasure Valley creators, highlighting Boise’s identity as a hub of innovation and artistry.
Through these initiatives and partnerships, Visionkit doesn’t just contribute to Boise’s artistic growth—they actively shape it. Their work serves as a catalyst for creative connection, ensuring that the local arts scene remains vibrant, inclusive, and accessible for years to come.
